The University Laboratory Management Centre (PPMU), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), is committed to ensuring that every sample received at the UIRL Satellite Counter is handled carefully in accordance with established procedures to maintain sample quality, integrity and traceability.

🗓️ COUNTER OPERATING HOURS
* Day: Every Wednesday
* Time: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Please ensure that your samples are submitted during the stated operating hours.
🔬 Our Sample Handling Procedures
Every sample submitted undergoes a systematic process to ensure proper handling and traceability:
✅ 1. Sample Verification & Registration
Sample information, identification and quantity are verified before registration and labelling.
✅ 2. Safe & Secure Transportation
Samples are securely packaged and transported by designated personnel. A Chemical Spill Kit is available in the designated transport vehicle as part of our emergency preparedness measures.
✅ 3. Receiving & Inspection
Upon arrival at the PPMU Block T03 Counter, samples are checked against the submission records to verify their identification, quantity, labelling and physical condition.
✅ 4. Documented Handover
Sample movements and handovers are recorded to maintain traceability before samples are forwarded to the relevant laboratory for further processing and analysis.

Accepted samples:
* Solid samples
* Powder samples
Samples not accepted:
* Liquid samples
* Samples requiring cold storage
Customers are advised to ensure that samples are properly packaged, securely sealed and clearly labelled. Please inform our counter personnel of any special handling requirements during submission.
