The University Laboratory Management Centre (PPMU) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) serves as the central body responsible for coordinating, standardizing, and elevating the governance of laboratories across the university. Established to strengthen laboratory excellence, PPMU ensures that all UTM laboratories operate with the highest standards of safety, quality, functionality, and compliance.

PPMU acts as a strategic hub that oversees the administration of more than 500 laboratories, supporting academic programs, research activities, industrial collaborations, and innovation-based services. By facilitating efficient resource management and ensuring adherence to international best practices, PPMU plays a critical role in sustaining UTM’s reputation as a leading research university.

Our mission is to enhance laboratory operations through structured management, systematic maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. PPMU provides guidance, policies, and training to ensure that laboratories remain safe, productive, and aligned with national and global standards such as OSHE, accreditation requirements, and research ethics.
